SHW WM has been part of SFO for a good two years. Now the group of companies is growing.
Since SHW Werkzeugmaschinen became part of the Munich-based investment company SFO, the company has been sailing in calm waters. However, SFO remains on an expansion course and has now taken over the plant manufacturer Piller Entgrattechnik with sites in Ditzingen and Kecskemet, Hungary. All 120 jobs are to be retained. In addition, the company will continue to operate under the name Piller Entgrattechnik.
Piller filed for insolvency at the end of February. Insolvency administrator Martin Mucha had continued to run the company and maintained business operations despite the coronavirus pandemic. “We will continue to try to invest successfully in mechanical and plant engineering. As with the two SHW companies, development potential will also be leveraged at Piller,” explained Wolfgang Schepp, Managing Director at SFO. According to him, synergies should also be created between the acquired companies. SFO sees itself as an investor that thinks and acts for the long term. The shareholders of the SFO Group are entrepreneurial families. “The focus is on the sustainable development and future-proof orientation of the acquired companies,” explains Schepp.
Piller Entgrattechnik is a manufacturer of systems for industrial parts cleaning using high-pressure blasting technology. At pressures of up to 1100 bar, a jet of water or cutting oil is directed at workpieces to remove burrs, chips and other contaminants. Founded in 1995, the company supplies customers in the automotive and hydraulics industries, pneumatics and medical technology. The company also offers contract deburring in Ditzingen for smaller quantities. The most recent annual turnover was around 20 million euros.
