At the AMB in Stuttgart, the international exhibition for metalworking in southern Germany, SHW Werkzeugmaschinen will be presenting the new PowerPortal 4000 portal machine from September 10 to 14, 2024.
“We have set ourselves the task of combining the quality and performance of a traveling column machine with the precision of a gantry machine in the PowerPortal 4000,” says Martin Rathgeb (Technical Manager at SHW Werkzeugmaschinen). Designed to enable precise workpiece machining in the assembly position and seamless
5-sided machining, the machine impresses with outstanding accuracy and efficiency values.
With its travel paths of X= 4,000 to 7,000 mm, Y=3,100 to 4,600 mm and Z= 1,600 mm, the machine can be configured to suit the respective machining task.
Depending on the configuration, table widths of 2,000 or 2,500 mm and
table lengths of 4,000 to 7,000 mm are possible. A table load of up to 25,000 kg can also be selected.
The PowerPortal 4000 is available with different milling heads, controls, tool holders and number of tool positions. It is also worth mentioning that the focus was already on the operator
during the initial considerations for the PowerPortal. In addition to a safety concept, operator support through smart tools was also integrated into the development. All in all, the PowerPortal is a trailblazer for the future of manufacturing technology.
